Match Your Vintage Cards With Some Great Postage Stamps This Holiday Season!
We’re often careful to make sure our holiday tableware is all matching and that our Christmas tree has a theme, but what about matching your Christmas cards with your postage stamps? This looks really great and is bound to have your friends and family wondering how on earth you managed to get cards to match your postage stamps.
You are more than welcome to send them to me or you can keep your ‘secret’ to yourself! You can purchase all different types of matching Christmas cards and postage stamps, but I’m going to look at vintage designs here because vintage Christmas designs look awesome on both cards and stamps.
Vintage Snowman and Snowwoman CardThis couple is one of my favorite Christmas cards and I love how you can get postage stamps to match it as the whole design has not just a vintage flair (because of their faces), but a cuteness factor that tugs at the ‘softie’ inside of me! I’m not sure if it’s their rosy cheeks or the gorgeous little snowdog – what do you like about this vintage winter snowman Christmas card?
Greetings From a Vintage Santa
Ye Olde World St Nicholas Christmas Cards & Matching Postage
Santa is the long time ‘face of Christmas’ and even in these vintage style cards he’s the star of the show! There really wouldn’t be a Christmas without Santa, so many of our holiday traditions are centered around him.
We sprinkle reindeer food out on the front lawn on Christmas Eve so that Santa can guide all of his reindeer down safely and we leave out food and drink for him to sustain him through his busy night – heck we even track his journey online! The holidays without old St Nick is inconceivable!
The vintage style images caught of him on the cards and stamps below really are perfect for the holiday season even if I do say so myself!

Fun Snowman Greeting Cards with Matching Postal Stamps
Building a snowman is always fun and is one of those things that remains constant over the years. Snowmen have long been associated with winter (of course!) and Christmas.
Why the snowman first became a symbol of the holidays isn’t really known, but the popularity of the song Frosty the Snowman and the publishing of the book and then the film about Frosty has all culminated in the snowman becoming a quintessential symbol of Christmastime.

These last three snowman designs were adapted from vintage images (with permission) by yours truly and made into the cards and postage you see so if you like them and buy them I’ll be very happy as it means I’ll also get paid some of the sale price by the company (Zazzle) who actually puts my designs onto the product for you. Lots of these going into an online shopping cart means a very happy holiday season in my household!!! Having said that I won’t hold it against you if you choose the vintage snow couple that’s my favorite instead (I completely understand their appeal!).

Evoke The Images of Christmas Past with These Holiday Postal Stamps and Cards
Can you imagine the holidays without a Christmas tree? I love seeing Christmas trees all decorated, almost as much as I love decorating our own tree with my daughter. Christmas trees have been shown on cards since they were first sent in the Victorian era.
Luckily lights on the trees have become a lot safer as they’re no longer candles with a high fire risk, instead we have Christmas lights or fairy lights to bring a festive feel to our holiday decor. The look of the candles when on artwork (or even cards) is always beautiful however……

The True Meaning of the Holidays
With all of the hoopla about Christmas it’s easy to get caught up in the hype and forget what the true meaning behind Christmas is – the birth of Jesus Christ. You can celebrate the Nativity while spreading the message to friends and family with these great vintage inspired Nativity scenes on both your cards and postage stamps.
Am I the only one who actually wonders what color Mary actually did wear? It’s something I remember asking as a child, but I can’t remember getting a definitive answer from anyone. Blue certainly seems fitting as it’s a calm color which is what you’d expect for the mother of Jesus.

Celebrate the Holidays in Vintage Fashion!
There are lots of other holiday ideas for cards like angels and children having fun in the snow that I had to include these next few for you to enjoy. I don’t think I’ve had a Christmas yet where ‘the holly and the ivy’ hasn’t been played (or I’ve hummed/sung it) so I just had to include a card that seemed to embrace that traditional song as well.
